Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book?

I would love you to join a class!

Please book in advance where possible, to avoid disappointment. Due to limited places in class, I cannot guarantee that there will be enough space for drop-ins. Please email if you would like to book a class: ommingbirdyoga@btinternet.com

Is your class suitable for all levels of ability?

Yes, my classes are suitable for all abilities and all are welcome! I offer different alternatives within each posture meaning you can choose what feels best for your body, working from a gentler practice to a more challenging one if you choose to do so.

My classes are great for beginners. Because Hatha is quite a gentle and slower-paced form of yoga, it means we have time to focus on correct alignment and making adjustments for our bodies within each posture.

Before joining your first class I will ask you to complete a Health Questionnaire so that I am aware of anything that may affect your practice. Wherever possible, I will provide you with options to make your experience of my class as comfortable and safe as I can.

If you have a health condition and you are unsure whether you can undertake yoga classes, please check with your GP before joining as I am not qualified to make that decision.

What shall I bring with me?

If have your own mat and props, feel free to bring them. Some people may feel happier with their own belongings to avoid the spread of Coronavirus. However, if you do not own your own yoga kit yet, you are welcome to use the yoga mats, blocks and straps that I provide. You may also want to bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated and a blanket to cosy up in during relaxation at the end of the class.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in.

It's a good idea to wear layers so you can regulate your temperature as you warm up and cool down.

Yoga is generally practiced barefoot, although if you would like to wear socks for warmth, it is a good idea to purchase some non-slip ones.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that life can be busy and unpredictable. Things can come up which means it isn't always possible to attend a class you have booked. For this reason, I try to be as flexible as possible, giving alternative ways to access the yoga class you have missed.

PAYG AND TERMLY BLOCK BOOKINGS

If you cannot make a class you have already booked, the class is non-refundable. However, there are several options to choose from:

  • Join the class live via Zoom

  • Receive a Zoom recording of the class so you can practice the class at a convenient time for you (recordings available for 14 days)

  • Join another class for that week (providing I have space available - please check with me)

  • Give your space to a friend or family member (just let me know who to expect)

WORKSHOPS

Workshops are fully refundable up to 28 days before the start date of the event you have booked. After which, 50% of the workshop price is refundable up to 14 days before the event. After this point, the amount is non-refundable and the full price of the workshop will be charged.

If there is a serious reason why you can't make a class, a block of classes or a workshop, please email ommingbirdyoga@btinternet.com to provide details. Consideration will be given to situations on a case by case basis and refunds may be given for compassionate reasons, although I reserve the right not to grant a full or partial refund.

CLASS OR EVENT CANCELLATION

Occasionally, I may need to cancel classes and workshops due to unforeseen circumstances. It may also be necessary to cancel Events/workshops due to low uptake. I will always try to give you as much notice as possible and you will be offered a full refund or credit towards future classes or events -  whichever is your preference.
